Mixed Media, Photographs, and Digital Artworks
Rossbach mainly engages in photography for reference, design work, or just to capture a moment in time, but the artist does a small amount of digital work. Exploring new media and mixing with old traditional works is one of Rossbach's favorite themes and by taking old photographs or moments captured with a phone camera, creating a story that is beyond Instagram or social media comes into play here. Photoshop has been around for over 30 years, but it's acceptance to creating works of art is still on the cusp of what qualifies as "art."
In one series, Rossbach found herself literally waiting in various rooms at clinics and hospitals when experiencing some issues that were difficult to diagnose. And the medical devices and machines became a fascination to how far medicine and science have come in the last 20 years even.
In the water tower series, it seems every small town has a water tower that has a personality of its own. As a source of a need for daily life, the shapes take a force that begs to be played with.
