Memories: Above Kay Bay
For several years, the artist lived in a remote area of the Chippewa National Forest which is depicted here. The property was surrounded by federally owned land and part of it overlooked a bay on Big Turtle Lake, near Bigfork, MN. Using a looser brush, Rossbach recalls the view with bright and unnatural colors, pulling from the memories of walking through that part of the woods where the sun would peek through illuminating the forest treasures that awaited.
