Flower Zen
These pieces are part of my Flower Zen collection. The collection recalibrates how I look at nature, intentionally focusing on the natural drama of Minnesota’s flora. Flower Zen is a spatially visual experience, evoking an emotional response. Initially when I started this project, I had a preconceived idea of what the flowers should look like and how I was going to use them creatively. I was fussing over the perfect flower poses, and was losing my mind. Frustrated, I finally just let go. I stopped controlling the flower and let it just do what it wanted. It was only then that each flower's gestures, personality, and beauty unfolded in front of my eyes.
